New Iphone And Ipad App Lets You Search Inside Local Restaurants

New Iphone And Ipad App Lets You Search Inside Local Restaurants Cover EveryScape, a startup working to create visual guides for local search, is today rolling out its Eats application for iPhone and iPad to users in the Seattle, San Francisco and SoHo areas. The application takes mobile users inside nearby restaurants for a more up-close and personal search experience. Using Eats, application users can essentially explore the interior of local restaurants in a virtual walk-a-round fashion, similar in style to Google Streetview for mobile, but infinitely more practical for would-be restaurant diners. Eats also includes visual search options, social sharing features and filters for users to find restaurants by location, price or rating. The EveryScape custom-built technology powering Eats is capable of transforming photo stills into three dimensional, user-controlled internal store tours. The application is designed to further the connection between patron and business owner, and business owners can use the service to customize their venue information. EveryScape is also announcing today the private beta release of its mobile SDK, making available its collection of visual restaurant guides to select iPhone and iPad developers. The Eats mobile application will be rolled out to New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C. in the months ahead. In many ways, Eats is like a next generation version of Yelp for mobile. Interestingly enough, Google may also be experimenting with a similar idea to enhance its Streetview product.

Cell Phones And Teens

Cell Phones And Teens Cover Teens consider cell phones the best invention of all times. I think they are right. I couldn’t imagine my life without the cell phone. I find it useful, entertaining and a salvation. But unfortunately there are teens that are way too obsessed by this invention. They can not stop talking, making pictures, listen to music and all this in a public space. I just hate teens who listen to music in the bus, it’s disrespectful. I don’t agree to listen to others music and I am sure that neither do other people. Cell phones are often personalized, with stickers or images. Some have radio or MP3 incorporated, so walking can be more fun when listening to music. Each person buys a cell phone that represents its personality. That’s why there are so many cell phone models and colors. Teens like fancy cell phones, to match their free personality. Cell phones bond friendships, are part of teens first love, make them get together and know each other. Text messages are more important than food and sleep, because they feed them with the most recent news. The many applications you can develop on the cell phone right now, makes out of it the best friend, not only for teens, but for grown up people too. It help us to keep in touch, carry our best friends’ pictures with us, listen to our favorite music, take pictures (most of the cell phones have cameras now) which we can upload on our computer and share. You cal also attach a memory card to some cell phones to stock more information that you need. It’s a good way too keep in touch with friends that live in other countries, completing emails. I would like to remind about the radiations that some say a cell phone emits. It’s not healthy to talk too long to the phone, or too sleep too close to it! It’s better to profit of its advantages, but knowing some limits. There are several cases when cell phones saved lives, when tourists were caught by avalanches, lost somewhere or in desperate situations. There is still the problem of the network, the signals of the cell phones are not always good, and so the different networks come with different offers to attract clients. This is the main problem for me, because the area I live in has a very bad cell phone signal. I sincerely, don’t think that any person would imagine his life without a cell phone, it saves us from spending time in vain and helps us solve problems from any place we might be. It keeps relationships and brings people together... Now, I should stop right here, my cell phone is ringing...

Best Bluetooth Stereo Headphones For iPhone 4

Best Bluetooth Stereo Headphones For iPhone 4 Cover The iPhone accessory market is a massive one and with the launch of the new iPhone 4 it is not getting any smaller, but the wireless headphone market is still at its early stages and it can be difficult to find and pick the right bluetooth stereo headphones for your iPhone 4. All iPhones and iPods running iPhone OS 3.0 or the latest iOS 4 will have access to bluetooth through the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) allowing your iPhone to sync and play music through compatible bluetooth devices. However, Apple is still to implement the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) so using bluetooth devices to skip tracks back and forth is still not available. Good news is that it looks like this will be resolved in the next iOS 4.1 as the iOS 4.1 Beta seems to support AVRCP according to independent reports. Having checked out many of the iPhone compatible bluetooth stereo headphones reviews online, we have narrowed the field down to give you an overview of the ones that seem to receive the most positive feedback online. We are currently waiting on an opportunity to review these directly ourselves, so keep checking back for full reviews. If you feel that we have missed out any that should be in the list of top iPhone bluetooth stereo headphones, then please leave a comment below with make and model and we will add to the list. Jaybird JB200 Freedom bluetooth headphones The Jaybird JB200 Freedom bluetooth headphones are the preferred choice for many sportsmen and women as the fit is quite snug and they are fairly small with no excess wires etc that might be hanging around making running etc uncomfortable. A quick look at some reviews on YouTube also shows videos of gymnast and acrobats doing crazy stunts on trampolines etc without these bluetooth headphones falling out. The consensus amongst reviewers seem to be that size and fit is very good with the Jaybird JB200 Freedom, but that sound is on the tiny side with treble dominating the sound picture. Some also highlight that the control buttons are small and somewhat ackwardly placed on the earpieces, so they take some getting used to. Battery life of the Jaybird Freedom are roughly 4 hours talk time (music), 110 hours stand by, and they come with their own charging station. Jaybird Freedom bluetooth headphones are not the cheapest in the market, but they are not too badly priced either. US price: $129 from Jaybirdgear Jaybird Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones Like the Freedom model, the Jaybird Sportsband is targeted towards the sporty ones amongst us, and with a slightly retro stylish look these could well become a popular sight along the roads and at the gym. Although the Jaybird Sportsband bluetooth headphones are overhead and therefore more bulky than some of its in-ear competitors, the sound is supposed to be superior to most of them with a more bass filed sound which according to many reviewers are amongst the best in the class for bluetooth headphones. Jaybird guarantees that the sportsband, even with its use of foam pads, is sweat and rain resistant so it can be used in all weather conditions. The bands are adjustable so will fit most head sizes, and from reports the earpieces are also comfortable. There is a microphone on the right earpiece so you will be able to make and answer calls with the Jaybird Sportsband as well. Some reports that the controls situated on one of the earpieces takes a bit getting used to. Battery life on the Jaybird Sportsband is 8 hours music play, 11 hours talk time, and 250 hours stand by time. The Jaybird Sportsband is available in a multitude of colors and its price is a bit cheaper than the Freedom model. US price: $99 from Jaybirdgear Jabra Halo Bluetooth headphones The Jabra Halo looks very similar to the Jaybird Sportsband, although we have not been able to find direct comparisons in terms of sound, and especially when it comes to features for sports usage. They do however come out strong in reviews when it comes to sound quality, with a crisp and clear sound, including when taking or making calls with is dual microphones. The design of the Jabra Halo is sleek and stylish with its lightly padded earpieces that sits comfortably on the ears. Some reports that the earpieces does not fit as tightly on the ears as they would like, which perhaps makes them less friendly for active sports use where one needs them to fit more snuggly. They stand out a bit from many of the other bluetooth headphones when it comes to control usability with their touch control on one of the earpieces. One quick press will answer the call, with a second press ending the call. Volume control is done by sliding your finger up or down on the touch surface. Battery life on the Jabra Halo is not bad, offering up to 8 hours talk time and 13 hours stand by time, and they come with a charger. US price: $85 from Amazon US Sony Ericsson IS800 bluetooth stereo headphones Unlike many of the other bluetooth stereo headphones in the market, these in-ear ones from Sony Ericsson are tiny in size, making them ideal for the minimalist amongst us. The Sony Ericsson IS800 stereo bluetooth headphones sport an earbud style design with just a slender cable connecting the two earbuds. There is a small control unit on the wire that is used to accept calls and to start and stop music. Apparently it can not be used to control volume or to skip tracks, which is a bit of a limitation. According to reviews of the Sony Ericsson IS800 they deliver good quality sound with a warm bass to it without being overwhelming, while also providing clear reproduction of different elements in the music. They are reported to handle activity fairly well, including walking and running, although the control unit hangs down from the left side of the headset so it might move around a bit. Battery time is advertised at 3.5 hours of talk/listening time. Some also report that the right earbud that houses the battery has a tendency to heat up. US price: around $89 Motorola MotoRokr S9-HD bluetooth stereo headphones The Motorola MotoRokr S9-HD is a popular bluetooth stereo headphone, and unlike the other ones on the list features a behind the neck band connecting the earbuds and housing the battery and bluetooth receiver. Strenghts of the MotoRokr S9-HD is sound quality, delivering a rich stereo experience with a good strong bass. Call quality is also reported to be good, but some reported that words sometimes can become a bit muffled. Call controls are also reported to be easy to find and use, with three controls on each earpiece, one side housing a multifunction button and the volume controls, and the other side offering play/pause and skip function buttons. As for active use, the MotoRokr is reported to heavy on the ears after a while, and the band going behind the neck can move around a bit, making them uncomfortable to run with for example. Battery life is reported to be around 6 hours of playing time. US price: $64 at Amazon.com If you disagree with any of the above information, or know of some other bluetooth stereo headphones that work even better for the iPhone 4 please let us know so we can keep this article updated with the best possible information.

Ideck In A 2001 Lexus Rx300

Ideck In A 2001 Lexus Rx300 Cover I am currently using the iDeck in a 2001 Lexus RX300. This vehicle lacked any sort of Aux input and some internet research hinted that it was possible, but only after splicing some wires and some pretty invasive techniques. I had attempted this in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and had poor results, so I started looking for some non-invasive ways to add an Aux connection to the Lexus. My initial thoughts were to suck it up and use an FM transmitter. Once again, I’ve tried them in the past with the Grand Prix and had poor/mixed results. Sometimes it would work wonderfully but, as many people know, the signal would need constantly tweaked when I would commute from Baltimore to Northern VA. Finally, I decided that I would try a tape deck adapter when I got the Lexus. I’m still surprised that it has a standard tape deck but, after finding the iDeck, I’m glad that it does. The iDeck works wonderfully, and I’m especially impressed with it’s cradle – it really holds my iPhone 3Gs firmly. The packaging was excellent, and it includes a multitude of rubber backings based on your particular Apple product. As I had said, I’m currently using an iPhone 3Gs, primarily with Pandora Radio. The sound quality left a little to be desired when directly plugged into the iDeck. There is a white noise that accompanies the sound and this is due, I’m sure, to the tape deck interface. It wasn’t as good as I had expected but was definitely clear enough to hear – the white noise however would overtake the sound at high volumes. Thankfully I had read that you could run a 3.5mm cable from the iPhone headphone output and into the iDeck’s Aux input. This was mainly to allow the device to play phone call audio through the speakers, but I found that it helped the sound output tremendously. So I am currently using the iDeck on a daily basis with a short 3.5mm cable running from the Aux input to my iPhone’s headphone jack. Upon plugging my iPhone in, I receive a pop-up claiming that the device is incompatible, but you can just select ‘No’ and everything is fine. 90% of the time I listen to Pandora with high quality steaming. The audio quality is much improved with the 3.5mm work-around, and now white noise is not an issue until high volumes/quiet audio tracks. The phone will receive calls as usual, and the audio will output to the car speakers. However, it’s much quieter than Pandora, so the car speakers need to be adjusted when I’m receiving a call. Also, my voice is difficult to hear due to the location of the phone and the fact that’s docked. If I speak loudly, then it’s bearable, but I’ve received more than a few complaints when trying to speak through it. That being said, I still primarily use the phone for Pandora and it’s working great! It’s a little finicky when the iPhone is left docked and the car is stopped/restarted. The car cuts its power to the device, and then when it’s restarted you have to handle the popup again, and sometimes the sound is absent. A quick unplug/replug of the 3.5mm jack fixes it – so not an issue. I have already recommended the iDeck to a fellow employee and she loves it. She has a newer Lexus RX330 and has blue tooth for her phone, and uses an iTouch but she still had no way of using it in the vehicle until she got the iDeck. The one report back from her was positive. Overall, I’d recommend this product to anyone with a tape deck adapter. It was the easiest way to take advantage of my iPhone and Pandora without adding another monthly cost (i.e. Satellite Radio). Awesome product!

Main Types Of iPhone Car Kits

Main Types Of iPhone Car Kits Cover iPhone car kits enable you to position your iPhone for use in your car. A few offer charging options and some offer bluetooth speakerphones. We describe the main types here. The iPhone uses the same data port as the iPod so it's possible to use some existing iPod charging and playback solutions with your iPhone and thus only require an iPhone car mount. Several iPhone car kit types are available and the most popular are described below iPhone Car Mounts These take the form of a short, flexible stalk anchored at one end by a vent clip or suction mount and tipped at the other end by an adjustable holder. Most feature a generic holder than can be re-purposed for a multitude of devices. In these generic types the iPhone will sit vertically in the holder. Custom iPhone car mounts are available that feature a swivel mount allowing you to change the iPhone's orientation as needs demand. They are also known as iPhone vehicle mounts. Lighter Mounts These are similar to iPod mounts but few have a charging capability built in. Like the car mount some have a short flexible stalk with the holder at one end and a 12V lighter connector at the other. Remember, few if any will charge your iPhone. Bluetooth Speakerphone Since the iPhone features Bluetooth 2.0 you will find a variety of bluetooth speakerphone's and car kits that may suit your needs. The car kits create an in-car speakerphone without wires. Simply pair your iPhone with the kit and you can begin handsfree speakerphone operation within seconds leaving your iPhone in its case or pocket. Some kits enable you to make as well as receive calls without touching the iPhone.

Cramzy Hits 3 Million Downloads

Cramzy Hits 3 Million Downloads Cover Cramzy today is pleased to announce that it has reached 3 million downloads from the Apple AppStore. This huge milestone makes the company the most successful iPhone developer in Bulgaria. End of march this year the company has announced their first million downloads and today, only 5 months later, Cramzy managed to triple their success. The reason is their latest free app – The River Test – a japanese job interview test which is given to applicants for senior management positions. Maria Yordanova, co-founder and quality at Cramzy, came up with the idea of the app “We accidentally found a research showing that iPhone users typically have IQ above the average. So we thought why don’t we give them one of the most complex tasks to test their skills, and people just loved the idea. There are plenty of people who solve the task quicker than we do – and we are both Mensa members.” In the last month The River Test became the #1 game in United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, Greece, Hungary, Malaysia, Indonesia and among the top free apps in 60 more countries, making over 50,000 free downloads everyday. Iliya Yordanov, CEO of Cramzy, decided to pay back the users for their support and add availability for iPad. “The app looks fantastically well on the iPad’s big screen”. So from the upcoming update (in two weeks maximum) The River Test will be an universal binary, and will include some great new features.

Is Parrot Bluetooth Still Leading The Game

Is Parrot Bluetooth Still Leading The Game Cover Everybody that thinks of bluetooth car kits automatically think of the brand Parrot, its a brand that's not only been around from the start of the technology's but also continually redefined concepts and how the user can interact with the system. The standards that parrot set early on now define how good current kits are. However just as other technology's evolve, so does the bluetooth market. The real question is are Parrot still number ONE? The Bluetooth car kit market is now more competitive than ever. New brands with updated functions are being released regularly, most of which perform in exactly the same manor as each other. However one of the main areas which the brands are currently focusing on improving is the design. Since the development of the iPod, much more emphasis has been put on stylish designs in general, which ever market any product has been released into. The world now expects contemporary looks and visually excellent style, basically the product has to be a cool stylish accessory as well as a fully functional product. Many brands are releasing updated bluetooth kits, these kits now offer the visual aesthetics that you would expect of any newly styled products. The new Ego bluetooth car kits for example look absolutely stunning, and would integrate very well into any vehicle. The New bury range combines visual aesthetics and performance to raise the bar for the next lot of challengers. But where does this leave the Parrot Kits? Well the Older parrot kits including the once very popular CK range are not declining in sales just yet and the functionality of the kits are still fairly competitive across the board however its the styling of the kits that are now starting age in comparison with virtually all the newer kits available on the market. Parrot have responded by releasing the new MKI Range of bluetooth car kits. A new range with new features as standard including iPod compatibility, with text and track display on the screen. In short the combination of use-ability, sleek designs and a wide compatibility with vehicle manufacturers is a winning formula that has pushed the parrot brand right to the top of the bluetooth car kit food chain. The reputation is well deserved as parrot are continually trying to push the boundary's of taste, compatibility and functionally, and above all they continue to keep us safe on the roads. However, any bluetooth kit is better than no bluetooth kit. Keep yourself and other road users safe by using a bluetooth handsfree kit or don't use your phone at all.

Dev Team iPhone 3 0 1 Jailbreak And Unlock

Dev Team iPhone 3 0 1 Jailbreak And Unlock Image
The iPhone dev team has updated their blog that states that redsn0w will unlock and jailbreak all iPhones on firmware 3.0.1 that was just released today. They will update redsn0w later to support the 3.0.1 firmware.

Dev Team's post:

Short version:

You can re-use redsn0w v0.8 we released a few weeks ago to jailbreak today's 3.0.1 update. Just let iTunes update or restore you to official 3.0.1 then run redsn0w. The only "trick" is that when redsn0w asks you to identify the IPSW used, point it at the 3.0 IPSW instead of the 3.0.1 one. After the jailbreak, reinstall ultrasn0w 0.9 if you need the unlock.

More details:

The 3.0.1 release is a "branch" from 3.0 that occurs (code-wise) before all the 3.1 betas. The programs redsn0w needs to change for the jailbreak are identical when you compare the 3.0 and 3.0.1 versions. It seems pretty much the only changes Apple made were for the SMS bug, which affects programs that redsn0w doesn't touch. That's why you can re-use redsn0w 0.8 on 3.0.1 even though it was written for 3.0.

And since 3.0.1 doesn't touch the baseband either, ultrasn0w 0.9 works for those needing the soft unlock. Just install it from the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository using Cydia as usual.

We'll at some point fix redsn0w to recognize both 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW's, but really that's the only change that would be made to it. Everything else would be identical, so there's no need to wait for the "proper" version that recognizes the 3.0.1 IPSW as valid.

A Guide To Using An iPhone In Your Car

A Guide To Using An iPhone In Your Car Cover If you drive a lot and love to listen to music in your car, then you must have thought of hooking up the iPhone to your car stereo. The problem is, doing this can be difficult. Unfortunately, There are no car stereo manufacturers which have come up with an all-in-one device capable of seamlessly hooking up your iPhone to the car. In this article, we'll take a look at some options we have for hooking up your iPhone to the car. 1. Overview As mentioned, there are no integrated solutions for connecting the iPhone to the car stereo. As a result, we'll need to look at various component solutions. These are listed below. 2. Option 1 - Budget Solution Here we need a car mount, car charger, FM transmitter and headphones. In this approach, we first mount the iPhone onto the car. Then we hook up the iPhone to a car charging device to keep it full of juice. We also hook up a FM transmitter which broadcasts audio from the iPhone to a specified FM radio channel on your car stereo. Finally, plug in your iPhone headphones and you'll be able to listen any incoming phone calls. The problem with this approach is that the sound quality coming out of the FM transmitter may be sub-optimal. 3. Option 2 - Cassette Tape Deck Solution The second option is to use a cassette tape adaptor. As before, we mount the iPhone into the car. Now In the market, there are cassette adapters which connect to the iPhone headphone jack. We hook up the iPhone in this manner, and any music output from the iPhone can be heard through the cassette tape. A good car cassette adaptor I'd recommend is the Philips PH2050W which goes for under $15. Now, we have a little problem -the cassette adaptor uses the iPhone headset port for connecting to the iPhone speaker. So how do you receive any incoming calls on the iPhone? The answer lies in a Bluetooth headset. Invest in one of these and you'll be able to listen to iPhone music through the cassette adaptor and yet still receive calls using the Bluetooth headset. And for your info, the audio quality from the cassette adapter is far superior and consistent compared to that from the FM transmitter. 4. Option 3 - The Most Integrated Solution Now, there's a 3rd option we can look at that is optimal compared to the previous two. One of the better car integration products in the market for the iPhone is the Bluetrek / Contour Design SurfaceSound Compact. This device adds a Bluetooth 2.0 microphone and flat panel NXT speaker combination to your car visor. So what happens is that when you get into your car, switch on the SurfaceSound Compact and your iPhone and the two will seamlessly connect. Receiving and dialling phone calls is done through Bluetooth - so no messy wires there. For music, again, there is no wired connection as the SurfaceSound Compact will automatically stream music to your car stereo. The only cable you have is one for charging the iPhone. Conclusion So on the whole, I'd say that in terms of car integration, the iPhone as a phone and music device in the car has not really come of age yet. I'm still waiting for a good manufacturer to design a seamless device which can hook up the iPhone (or iPod or even the iPad) to your car with utmost simplicity. Most of the products I've seen on the market (with the exception of the SurfaceSound Compact) are still considered sub-optimal solutions which require a lot of "manual" cable integration. Let's watch this space and hope for better products in the future!

The New iPad And Bluetooth 4 0 Smart Ready For Even Better Wireless Accessories

The New iPad And Bluetooth 4 0 Smart Ready For Even Better Wireless Accessories Image
One quiet little addition to the new iPad is Bluetooth 4.0, complete with a little something called "Smart Ready". What does that mean, exactly? For one, it's lower-energy than the last iteration, which is always good news. This opens up the door for peripherals running on a simple coin-cell battery, like you might find in a watch. The "Smart Ready" designation will allow the new iPad to connect to smart accessories, like heart rate monitors, by providing a channel for all sorts of different data types. Bluetooth 4.0 also has better range, though it's not clear how much better it is.

Apple had already got on the Bluetooth 4.0 bandwagon with the iPhone 4S and some models of Mac. That's interesting because, despite all of the high-horsepower Android tablets to come out of the woodwork, Apple is still going to be the first one in the tablet space to include the Bluetooth 4.0 spec.

Motorola is tackling Bluetooth 4.0 fairly aggressively too, namely through the Droid RAZR and the MOTOACTV watch acessory, but so far, they're the only ones.

While the slight change in thickness may irk extremely size-concious iPad accessory makers, those that provide any kind of wireless connectivity will likely be interested in the new Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, and may be able to do some new and interesting stuff with the spec, like Find my Car.

iPhone To Car The New Media Solution For iPhone Integration

iPhone To Car The New Media Solution For iPhone Integration Cover The iPhone is one of the most successful phones in recent history. The ability to integrate numerous features makes the phone desirable, the image, design and styling make it more so. The fact its a must have accessory for a large majority of the population speaks volumes about the success Apple have had since the release. One of the reasons the apple iPhone is so successful is because it brings all types of new digital media to the table. In fact some would say its responsible for a large part of the development of new media. For instance, Would sites like Facebook and Twitter be so popular if they weren't accessible on your mobile phone? Harnessing this new media is a challenge for all companies wanting involvement in the iPhone revolution, making an add-on that actually improves the features of an iPhone is somewhat difficult. Apps can be created relatively easily depending on the subject and performance targets, and of-course the skill of the development team behind it. However the devices that physically connect to the iPhone face entirely different obstacles. A good example was the power chance from 12v to 9v and 5v charging. One of the problems when trying to integrate the iPhone with external hardware (None computers) is that the software on the phone is complex, computers can obviously install compatible software to integrate well, however when trying to integrate into something more simple in design i.e a car stereo more problems are encountered. Software is obviously not available to install on car stereos so certain features on the iPhone are not transferable. The major problem when connecting an iPhone to a device without software is that the iPhone locks out and goes into flight mode. In the case of iPhone car kits, If you wanted to control the iPhone through the stereo or steering wheel controls the kit will lockout the iPhone, basically turning it into an iPod. Which isn't a problem when navigating through your music collection, however you will not be able to make or receive calls or texts. Dension have created a new iPhone car kit which allows the connection of the iPhone without it going into flight mode, you control the iPhone's music from the phone its self so you still have full phone features combined with the music integration into your car. The iPhone is charged while connected and the stereo retains all of its usual controls, I.e volume controls. The Gateway Lite is the next generation of iPhone car kits specifically designed for such purpose, have you mobile jukebox in full operation in your car and you phone if required. The Gateway lite is not a phone kit and does not offer any handsfree functions, but is the best solution for integrating your iPhone into your vehicle. iPod car accessories are useful for long journeys, car accessories for the iPod and iPhone can range from protective cases, to protect against scratches and more serious damage, Through to fully integrated iPhone car kits which provide a digital connection combined with iPod and music control through the stereo / steering wheel adapters and charging facilities.

Phil Is Back With The Mac App Store Saying

Phil Is Back With The Mac App Store Saying Image
The Apple WWDC Live Keynote started at 10:00 am Pacific time in San Francisco California.

Steve Jobs hit the stage exclaiming all 5,200 attendees who were at the Keynote and tickets that had sold out in less than 2 hours.

Steve Jobs said that there a a few things we should talk about including the "OS X Lion, iOS 5, and some kind of interesting new cloud stuff."

While Steve Jobs is on stage, he explains how the Macs have been doing extremely well over the years and how sales are almost 3/4 notebooks at this point, far outpacing desktop sales

Phil Schiller goes up on stage to explain more about the OS X Lion. Phil explains that the OS X Lion is "a major release with over 250 new features. If you'd like we can go over every one of them today."

Phil shows an amazing feature of the OS X Lion that includes Multi-Touch He shows the multi-touch tap-to-zoom, pinching, two-finger swiping- "all with an incredible, physical realism that's never been possible in a PC operating system before."

Next up, Phil shows full screen applications.

With OS X Lion, developers will be able to make their apps run in full-screen more easily.

Phil shows through Safari, iMovie, and dozens of other standard apps. Phil also shows a feature known as Mission Control. With Mission Control, you are able to see all your apps and all the documents you're working on. And you can get to all your spaces up top, multiple views of apps, and you can get to all your widgets on the upper-left.

According to Phil, "It's almost like task-switching in WebOS or QNX on the BlackBerry PlayBook, if you're familiar with those".

At the WWDC Keynote 2011, Phil is back with the mac app store saying "you can get your software right from the comfort of your home on your Mac."

The Mac App Store is now the e #1 channel for buying PC software. It's ahead of Best Buy, Walmart, and Office Depot. The App Store is now built-in to Lion. They are also adding in-app purchases, push notifications, and a built-in sandboxing mode to boost security is also added.

Resume is another feature included in the OS X Lion. Phil states, "Now when you launch an application in Lion it brings you right back to where you left off." This includes windows, selections, tools, and also highlighted text that appear the same way as left them.

Autosave is another great feature included in the OS X Lion. "The one time you might forget to save what you're doing, something goes wrong Why can't the computer help you? That's what Lion does." Lion will automatically save the document for you without you having to do anything.

Phil further explains "A completely new version of Mail in Lion. It's beautiful." In the new version of Mail in Lion there are two or three-column view, snippets on the left, and a favorites bar to get to your hottest folders.

The OS X Lion will be available to all Mac users in July for only 29.99- right from the Mac App Store.

Ways To Connect Your iPod Touch To Your Car Stereo

Ways To Connect Your iPod Touch To Your Car Stereo Cover There are several ways you can hook up the iPod touch, which depend on the age of your car stereo. Connect By Cable For more modern car stereos, you can connect your iPod touch by a special iPod cable (an adaptor). Most modern car stereos support the newest iPods, but you may need an extra cable or two to hook it up. Connection kits, such as adapters, vary depending on your needs, whether you want just the wires that hook up the iPod touch to your stereo. Basic connection kits can be found for older stereo models or factory fitted stereos as well as brand new car audio systems. However, if your stereo is very old it may not support an iPod touch through a connection kit. Connect With an iPod Solutions Kit An iPod solutions kit is another alternative way to connect your iPod touch. An iPod solutions kits will consist usually of a main unit, which will hook up your iPod touch via an Fm transmitter. iPod solution kits also can come with a screen and remote, allowing you to view the song you are listening to and change it whilst on the move.

California Cell Phone Driving Law

California Cell Phone Driving Law Cover Using a cellphone while driving causes more accidents? In general, driver distraction is a major cause of road accidents. Using a cell phone requires attention and may be a contributing factor to accidents. Some studies indicate that the frequency of accidents is higher when drivers use a cell phone, while other studies conclude that such use does not affect the rate of accidents. However, the fact remains that using a cellphone is one of many distractions with which a driver must deal. In other words, when it comes to driver distraction, one must look not only to cell phones. Always check the regulations of the municipality, province, state or country. Some jurisdictions prohibit the use of a cell phone while driving, while others require the use of hands-free phones. Among the countries with the use of cellular phones is restricted, for example, include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Finland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain, South Africa and the United Kingdom. In the U.S., the municipality, county or state regulates the use of cell phones. For example, cell phones are prohibited in the state of New York and Washington, DC, and in certain municipalities or counties. Which brings us to California which has , like every state , several laws banning or not the use of the cell phone behind the wheel and in the case of handeled and wireless cell phones . So for handheld cell phones, the state prohibits all use of the cell phones and literally bans it for novice drivers or in case passengers are present (in case of a bus driver for example) . This includes texting as well . As the The Wireless Communications Device Law (effective January 1, 2009) and the handheld wireless telephone laws were saying : It is an infraction to be writing , sending , or reading a text-based communication on an electronic wireless communications device , as a cell phone for instance , while operating a motor vehicle, this was beside another two laws that were established in july 2008 (California Vehicle Code [VC] §23123 , [VC] §23124 ) . The first law states that no driver should be using a handheld wireless communication device while behind the wheel and on the oher hand the second law is just concerning under aged motorists and bans them from any use of a cell phone while driving and allows over eighteen years old drivers to use a hands-free . Also the laws in California state that an officer can not stop a vehicle just to enforce the law and therefore the officer can only stop someone based on another independent infraction . But again the laws are here the protect us at first and I would like to think that the freedom limited by the presence of such laws is on our benefit .

A Little Bit Of Info About Dension And iPod Car Kits

A Little Bit Of Info About Dension And iPod Car Kits Cover When you first read the title of this blog, I know what you are thinking. You are probably thinking that I will supply you with a big catalogue with what the new upcoming Dension iPod car kits are, aren't you? See, I knew it but I WON'T. You can hopefully check the catalogue in the main company site of Dension. So, what is the purpose of listing them down all here? It's no use at all. Rather in this post, I will just tell you a bit about what the latest community developments in Dension. By the way, did you know that Dension was founded by the Lukasz brothers? Yes, it was in the year of 2001 in Budapest. The sole motive of Dension Audio Systems Ltd at that time was to provide an easy-to-operate, nearly visible car audio interface by which you could integrate your MP3 player with your car radio. It was all about HDD, whether removable or stand-alone, for car tuning or such, and I daresay, they were gaining over the market slowly and steadily. But I don't not many people knew of Dension at those initial times. They had a small limited market and they were marketing through their handful number of dealers and distributors in the most profitable centres of the world. But it took a sudden turn for the better. In the year 2003, the world saw the launch of iPod Touch. And it sent a wave of iPod craze all over the world. And Dension Audio Systems worked on developing one of its kind iPod car audio interfaces, an iPod car kit that people would not only love to use but would recommend to others as well. The breakthrough came with its unique series of Dension ice>Link Plus iPod car kits. To be honest, I worked with a part of a dealership during that time, and I was in the customer service department of the Dension dealer company. So, you can pretty much understand that I had to deal with customers who were the first hand users of Dension iPod car kits, and they were overwhelmed at the superior quality of the products, a complete value for their money. In the meantime, Dension brought out iPod car kits for almost all kinds of car brands out there, starting from Kia to BMW. You name it and you have it with Dension. In fact, most of the customers rendered very positive feedback about the product (and also about the way I support them as an executive...lol). But you see, with the advancement of technology, Dension had to make some vital changes to its framework as well. At the moment, it is focusing more on Bluetooth and video integration. Have you got the iPhone or a DVD, Dension will help you integrate it with your car radio. Dension says that they like a challenge. Dension wants you to let your imagination run wild and whatever your wish, Dension will fulfill it. Dension wants to let the music be with you always, wherever you go. And no doubt it is proving itself every way. Dension Audio systems provide the opportunity to connects additional media devices to your vehicle entertainment system. The advanced nature of the kits means you have full control of your iPod & iPhone car kit through the stereo and steering wheel controls. Making them the best aftermarket kit available on the market today.

300-page iPhone Bill

300-page iPhone Bill Image
Currently, only two carriers in the United States officially offer the Apple iPhone 4. That's AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Every since AT&T acquired T-Mobile USA, the number one question on the minds of hundreds of people was that is T-Mobile USA going to get the iPhone as well? According to reports, internal testing of the iPhone 4 by T-Mobile USA is well underway.

BGR claims to have received a generous amount of pictures that show a white T-Mobile iPhone 4 test unit. The fact that this is a test unit is further solidified by the test settings and applications included, which are not found in the retail units. Physically, the device itself is the same iPhone 4 unit we've had for about an year now and it runs a version of iOS 4. So no drastic changes there.

Also by looking at the prototype markings on the back of the device, it is evident that this is indeed a prototype/test unit rather than an actual retail unit. No word as yet on when T-Mobile USA will officially be getting the iPhone 4 or when Apple plans to bring the iPhone 4 on T-Mobile USA.

Who knows, maybe at the iPhone 5 release we might get to know that Apple had added a third carrier, T-Mobile USA, to the list of carriers that offer the iPhone in the US.

New iPad Tool

New iPad Tool Image
Looks like the new iPad is already well on its way to getting a new jailbreak. The Dev Team has posted a status update on the new iPad, and have in fact already jailbroken is on iOS 5.1 using a few different methods.

*

We can confirm that the method used to jailbreak the iPad2 4 months ago (before corona) still works even in 5.1. That means we'll at least be able to get our foot in the door to get the required kernel dumps on the iPad3. That's an important step, but by no means is it the end of the story.

*

Those of you following @i0n1c may have noticed he's already tweeted pictures of his iPad2 jailbroken at 5.1. As far as we know, he's using a method completely unrelated to the one mentioned above. That would be great news!

*

We've also seen bits and pieces of an entirely different jailbreak method being investigated by someone close to the Cydia repo scene.

While there is no ETA for a jailbreak tool to be released, this should allay fears that the new iPad jailbreak would take as long as the iPad 2 or iPhone 4S jailbreaks took, which involved months and months of work.

Anyone planning on jailbreaking when the new iPad tool is released?
