This years WorldWideDeveloperConference WWDC 2011 sould out within 8 hours. So, bad luck if you've been on a transatlanic flight at that time. Today, the lucky ones of the iOS Mac developer community, who managed to get a ticked this year, gather at the Moscone West Center in San Francisco. Probably, Apple will share the videos of all of the WWDC sessions for free with their registered iOS Mac developers, like they did last year. And even if the Cupertino guys won't stream Steve Jobs keynote live, we'll get a video stream short after the event. For real live coverage we can rely on the all those people blogging from the keynote. The keynote begins at 10:00 AM PST (07:00 PM CET) and there are a lot of things to cover: The next version of Mac OS X called Lion, the next version of iOS for iPhones iPads and Apples new cloud service iCould.

Apple Considers Themselves

Apple Considers Themselves Image
Following its introduction last week, the idea that the new iPad was "unbeatable" began to get a lot of attention, primarily due to an article in "Slate" with that very title. Indeed, when seeing a product like the new iPad, it's easy to get swept away -- there's just so much technology wrapped in so beautiful a package for such an unbelievable price that it's almost impossible not to. I get that. But it's not true.

Nothing and no one is unbeatable. Not the iPad. Not Apple.

In an industry of titans, no one has ever seen the next big transition coming. IBM didn't. Microsoft didn't. Sony didn't. HP didn't. Yahoo didn't. Google won't. Facebook won't. And neither will Apple.

The only advantage Apple has is that they've been there before, prior to the second coming of Steve Jobs, when Michael Dell was suggesting they turn off the lights and return the money to the shareholders.

The Mac was beaten. Apple was beaten.

Because of that, I don't think Apple considers themselves or any of their products unbeatable. I think they actively fear the complacency that comes with that kind of thinking.

It's dangerous.

Apple literally wants to stay hungry and stay foolish in so far as they never settle for what they're doing now and relentlessly explore what they could be doing better in the future. The near future.

Apple is like Balboa after Clubber Lang clobbered him early on in the third Rocky movie. Microsoft took the PC championship from them. They'll never forget that beating and they're working their collective asses off to make sure the same doesn't happen in the rematch.

Like Steve Jobs said in his famous Stanford address, once you know you're going to die, you achieve an amazing clarity. Once you know you can be beaten, you likewise develop an amazing freedom.

They're naked. Not trapped into defending the revenue streams of the past at the expense of future success. Rather they're relentless, almost to a reckless degree, about embracing it.

They ditched the floppy drive in favor of USB and the internet. They obsoleted the iPod with the iPhone. They cut into Mac sales with the iPad.

They've done everything every one of their competitors is terrified to do. And they've done it because they not only know they're beatable, but because they're intent on proving it again and again, year in and year out -- by beating themselves.

Tim Cook said as much during the new iPad keynote, and Steve Jobs has said it before.

That's what makes Apple dangerous.

The knowledge that they're beatable.

Apple Delayed The Launch Of The White iPhone 4

Apple Delayed The Launch Of The White iPhone 4 Image
Picking between one of two color options, black or white, for the new iPad might seem trivial to some or simply a matter of personal taste, but it's a question we get asked a lot. Once you've decided to get a new iPad, settled on your storage capacity, and chosen between AT&T and Verizon if you're going 4G LTE, color is what's left. While the black and white iPads are otherwise identical in terms of size and weight, storage capacities and carriers, there are a few points to consider.

Note: Unlike the black and white iPhones, iPads all have the same aluminum back plate so it's really only the front bezel border that changes.

IS WHITE MORE DISTRACTING?

A white bezel tends not to blend away into the background, so some find it more distracting than black.

Imagine if your TV set had a white bezel instead of black, would that distract you from the show or movie you were watching? The game you were playing? If the goal of the device is to get out of your way so you can become totally immersed in the content, black has traditionally been a much safer color choice for manufacturers to go with.

Many people feel the same way about the iPad. Black disappears. Even if the content is white (like an ebook or web page), the environment around us usually isn't. So black melts out of the way and once the screen lights up it's all but forgotten.

The same "can" happen with a white bezel, but it depends more on the individual. White is definitely more noticeable than black. For some that means it's a lot more distracting and actually takes away from the viewing experience. For others, it's enjoyable, frames the viewing, and provides a two-tone look that's more fashionable than black.

I've had both a black and a white iPads and have never been distracted nor irked by either one. If white catches your eye a little too much, however, you might want to stick with black.

WILL WHITE DISCOLOR?

Black will show smudges more, but could theoretically maintain its color for longer.

Rumor has it Apple delayed the launch of the white iPhone 4 in order to improve the UV protection and prevent discoloration. That's just a rumor, however, and white iPads have shipped day and date with black iPads since they were introduced in March 2011. That also means white iPads have been on the market for almost a year now, and there haven't been any widespread accounts of discoloration. My own white iPad 2, bought in March 2011, still looks as crisp and clean as the day I unboxed it.

In 5 years time some more obvious aging issues may present themselves, but 5 years is an eternity in consumer electronics. If it concerns you, stick with black.

On the other hand, black shows fingerprints and smudges more dramatically and don't disappear when the screen is lit up, so if those annoy you, white is a better choice.

DOES WHITE LOOK BETTER?

Black iPads let accessories be the star while white iPads compete with or complement them more.

Some people just love the look of a white device, whether it's an iPad, an iPhone, a BlackBerry, an Android, or whatever. They sometimes get shipped later or come in more limited quantities so there's an air of exclusivity about them.

That's not the case with iPads.

White tends to stand out more and can be more obvious with brightly colored cases. Is that something that appeals to you? Or do you want the content and the accessories to be the star?

If you like the idea of a blank canvas, stick to black.

SO WHICH COLOR SHOULD YOU GET?

At the end of the day, the only real answer is get the color you like better. Everything else is manufactured anxiety at this point. Just close your eyes, picture your iPad in your hand and carefully look at what color you're picturing.

Then buy that.

ANY QUESTIONS?

If you've already chosen, let us know which one you went with and why. If you need extra help or want extra opinions deciding whether you should get, black or white, don't hesitate to ask.

iPod Software

iPod Software Image
The LENOGO IPOD TO PC TRANSFER software is a great program for transferring songs and files from your iPod to your computer. Since iTunes blocks the iPod to iTunes transfers, this software provides a much needed solution for many iPod owners.

Using iPod's internal database to display the iPod's contents, the Lenogo iPod to PC Transfer program can easily transfer all the files on your iPod to your computer quickly and easily.

It is fully compatible with all version of iPod including iPod Photo, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle and iPod Video.

For some reason, Apple chose not to allow transfer from iPod to iTunes, PC and computer. This was probably due to a fear of people sharing too much music and files. However, there are countless stories of people suffering a computer crash, hard drive failure and other catastrophes and suddenly losing hundreds or sometimes thousands of dollars worth of music and videos.

If you try to connect your iPod to iTunes on a new computer without this type of software, your entire iPod will be wiped clean! Don't let it happen.

Here are some key features of the Lenogo iPod to PC Transfer:

* Powerful iPod Music Backup and Recovery Solutions to Your PC

* Complete transfer of all files (artists, albums, ratings and playlists)

* Super fast transfer rates

* Easy, single-step transfer option

* Fully Compatible with all versions of iPod!

* Content-Rich transfer. Transfer any media type (audio, video & photos)

* Automatic transfer. It will detect your hardware and determine the best options

Have you heard enough? The Lenogo iPod to PC Transfer is a superior program to get your iPod files backed up and transferred to any computer.

Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit

Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit Image
Have you ever been stopped by a traffic officer for using your mobile phone while you are driving? Well, I have been…very recently, when I was driving in my Aston Martin to London, I got stopped over by a huge officer on the road. He pulled me over to see if I was using any mobile phone at the time of riding behind the wheels. And YES, I WAS! But I was using my cool Parrot Bluetooth kit of which I’m so proud.

I have a sleek ‘plug and play’ Parrot Bluetooth interface. It is highly portable and slim, space saving in its design. It’s highly intuitive and can connect with my iPhone on its own. If you have an iPod or MP3 Player, it works with them too. Once it is paired, it becomes so easy to operate the mobile phone.

The most important facility of my Parrot Bluetooth car kit is that it can update its phone book memory on its own. I don’t have to fiddle with it every now and then to revise the important numbers in my mobile phone. Apart from that, when you spurt the name of the person you want to call, JUST say the name. That’s it. If there are more than one numbers, go ahead and add some details to it. That’s all you need to do. And the kit recognizes it and calls the number on your behalf. Yes, it has got the cool text-to-speech function.

This car gadget weighs 1.38 lbs or 0.63 and is compatible with several mobile phone brands that are Bluetooth enhanced. A professional car mechanic can do the installation of the kit in your car’s dashboard. It takes up very little space actually but gives a packed performance. You get all the music you can get with top quality audio coming from this little contraption.

The Parrot MK6000 stereo Bluetooth car kit is the first ever hands-free car kit for music. Bluetooth technology is a Swedish innovation that allows data and voice to be transferred via a short distance radio link. It hooks up with a wide variety of electronic devices without the use of cables and wires.

Running Operation

How does it work? The latest signal processing technology makes the Parrot Mk6000 capable of playing MP3 music uploaded via Bluetooth. The music is then directed to the car’s speakers, loud and clear. As a tool for communications, the Bluetooth, makes it easy for you to call a number without resorting to one-hand driving. The Parrot phone book reads out the names and you prompt the Parrot with your choice. This voice synthesis technology is becoming a way of life for those on the road most of the time.

You can pair your Parrot MK6000 with five connections simultaneously. When you talk on the phone, the device mutes all background noise and when the call is over, the music continues. With an iPod you can have a vast repertoire, so take it along. The iPod is compatible with the Parrot MK6000 when it supports the AVR/CP profile.

The microphones can be attached on the rear view mirror or on the dashboard for your convenience. These are equipped with “Parrot Beamforming®”, noise reduction, and echo cancellation to filter out background noise for clear voice quality. The control panel of the Parrot MK6000 stereo Bluetooth car kit is user-friendly. With its 6-button user interface and one scroll knob, it is easy to navigate. When you want to adjust the settings on the Parrot MK600, you still can concentrate on your driving because of its uncomplicated controls.

Conclude

Most of the Parrot products are geared towards audiovisual multimedia and the Parrot Bluetooth car kits are no different in this case. Such is the popularity of the brand, Parrot Bluetooth car kits sell all worldwide and has a gross sale of 85 percent from overseas market. A little knowledge of the capital market will tell you that Parrot’s listed on ‘NYSE Euronext Paris’ since the year 2006 and has been growing steadily over the years.

Whatever! With over around 450 people working for them all over the world and many new updated Parrot Bluetooth products in line, Parrot is one of the leading and reliable Bluetooth kit brands in the world.

Apple Currently Commands

Apple Currently Commands Image
If you though the iPhone was big in China, think again. Gartner says that despite landing a deal with China Telecom, Apple has only a third of Samsung's smartphone market share. Samsung currently holds 24.3%, while Apple currently commands 7.5% of Chinese smartphone owners. Gartner says that the situation won't change without support for China Mobile, the biggest carrier in the country (and the world, for that matter).

As is, Apple will be able to reach 34% of the Chinese market, leaving about 655 million consumers outside of their reach. Even without official support, 15 million China Mobile subscribers are apparently willing to live on 2G and Wi-Fi so long as they get to use an iPhone 4S.

Although it's unfortunate for Apple that they're missing out, they haven't bothered to make an AWS-compatible iPhone to address the entire U.S. market, so it's not entirely surprising that they aren't willing to make a TD-SCDMA iPhone either. Maybe once China rolls out LTE Apple will be able to address the entire market there.

Yes, Apple is still dominating in global profit share, but with Apple's margins, every point of market share brings with it a huge amount of profit share, and in China they're just not exploiting it to its full potential yet.

This iPhone Is Sim-less

This iPhone Is Sim-less Image
Earlier today, we told you about a Reuters report that claimed that Apple's next iPhone, presumably called either iPhone 5 or iPhone, would boast a massive 4.6-inch display. And while we're extremely skeptical at this point, one designer took it upon himself to create a nice mockup of what a 4.6-inch iPhone might look like should it ever come into existence.

The mock up, done by ADR Studio's Antonio De Rosa, is pretty sleek, even for a big screened smartphone. (I don't care for them all that much.)

This iPhone is sim-less, meaning it doesn't feature a SIM card from any carrier. It also has 4G LTE speeds, two panel speakers that are housed on the device's aluminum unibody design. That aluminum aspect has been rumored in the past and it's something that I've wanted from a new iPhone for quite some time.

There is also a neat little LED indicator that flows around the device and we now see the home button baked into the actual software instead of sitting on the bezel of the smartphone.

Now, clearly, this is not going to be the next iPhone but it certainly has some things to like about it.

Speaking of the next iPhone, it has become clear that it will likely be a 4G LTE-enabled device and that it will more than likely be launching this fall rather than at this year's World Wide Developers Conference in June.

What's unclear is whether it will feature a similar or different design from the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, both of which employed a combination of stainless steel and strengthened glass.

Apple Ceo Tim Cook Said Demand For The Device There Has Been Staggering

Apple Ceo Tim Cook Said Demand For The Device There Has Been Staggering Image
Last week, we reported that, according to IDC, China was poised to oust the U.S. as the world's top smartphone market as early as this year. Today comes new data suggesting that the country is already outpacing the U.S. on another associated metric: Android and iOS device activations.

According to mobile analytics outfit Flurry, combined iOS and Android activations in China surpassed those in the U.S. some time in February. And by the end of March, the world's most populous country will account for 24 percent of activations to the U.S.'s 21 percent.

Hardly surprising. China is the world's most populous country, and it's the first with one billion mobile phone subscribers. But worth noting, as China is increasibly becoming a point of focus for companies like Apple.

Remarking on sales of the iPhone 4S in Greater China during a company earnings call earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook said demand for the device there has been staggering. "We felt we were betting bold, as I think many of you would have thought if you would have known what we were doing," Cook said of the 4S rollout plan for the country. "But as it turns out, we didn't bet high enough."

New iPad Vs iPad 2 Speaker Volume Test

New iPad Vs iPad 2 Speaker Volume Test Image
One of the things I most eagerly wanted in the new iPad was a better speaker. I didn't expect it, mind, you, but when some early reviewers mentioned the new iPad had the loudest speaker they've ever heard on a tablet, my ears perked up and I became very excited. That's simply because Apple thus far hasn't been willing or able to put a decent speaker into any of their mobile devices. For the company that revolutionized music with the iPod and iTunes, that's mind boggling. Yet year after year I have a hard time hearing my games and movies out of the tiny, tinny iPad speaker, and find myself cupping the speaker with my hand and craning my ear down just to make out the dialog. Sure, I could put on headphones or use a Jawbone JAMBOX -- which admittedly the iPad handles really well -- but that should be an option, not a requirement.

Back to the new iPad. After hearing that the speaker may, mercifully, be louder, I tried listening to some music and playing some videos and I couldn't tell the difference. Both the new iPad and the iPad 2 sounded about the same to me. I turned off volume control and pushed the levels to the maximum on both and repeated the test. Still no difference.

My next step was to download an app to measure what, if any differences there might be. While not as scientific as a proper, soundproofed lab full of carefully calibrated equipment, it was enough for our real-world tests. The app I chose was Decibels [free - Download now]. I then placed my iPhone, armed with the Decibels app, a finger's width away from each iPad's speaker, and played a video.

The Decibels read out never reach 90. (Based on the car I was watching in the video, my inner geek really wants to say it never hit 88!).

To be absolutely sure, I asked Rene to repeat the same tests on his new iPad and iPad 2, and he recorded the exact same results. (So even if the app wasn't scientifically accurate, it still showed the same result for both.)

All this means that, in the end, the speaker for the new iPad isn't any louder than the speaker for the iPad 2, and to my ear there's not much, if any, difference to the sound it produces.

Given the love the camera and screen got this time, I'm now once again hoping the speaker gets it next.
