iPhone Car Mount And Hands Free Kit

iPhone Car Mount And Hands Free Kit Cover I just installed my iPhone in my Mazda 3. I used a leather wrapped mount from Kuda. On the kuda is just an adjustable quick mount that holds the iPhone securely. The power comes from a Belkin charger. This charger also has a line out connection coming out at the 12v plug. My car has a built in "line in" mini jack . I have a cable from the belkin plug into my line in. All the wires are hidden except the last 8" which attaches to my phone. The hands free kit is a Motorola that I've had since my previous car. It works very well with the iPhone. I don't use the voice commands very much since the iPhone is only a touch away, but it works well when needed. I think it looks nice, it certainly works very well (excuse the dirty car on photo!) A few more random thoughts: The Belkin has a built in pre amp which allows you to adjust the gain into your factory setup. When the iPhone is in iPod mode, the screen stays active.... it won't go into black screen sleep mode. The Kuda mounts are VERY WELL MADE. Installation took about 10 Minutes. They are leather wrapped and available for many different vehicle apps. If you have a nice vehicle and don't want to make it look cheap or messy with one of those suction cup or sticky tape mounts, look into this. The mount can be removed without any evidence that it was ever there.

iPod Fm Transmitters Offer Good Value For Car Audio

iPod Fm Transmitters Offer Good Value For Car Audio Cover There are a lot of different types of transmitters available to purchase, each differs in performance and quality. As with everything else in life you get the good and the bad. The problem with transmitters is that the bad are very bad and give the other products a poor reputation on the back of theirs. FM Transmitters by nature are designed with a slight fault, in that they are prone to interference from other signal frequencies. This can manifest in two ways either the transmitter signal is blocked because the other signal is stronger or interference is received over either audio playback, resulting in echo, buzz or both. The actual quality of the audio being played through the transmitter is generally quite good. Most genuine products such as Griffin iPod FM transmitters, Dexim and or Logic3 offer audio equivalent to a good radio station (radio 1 for example) however its generally expected if you use a frequency close to a powerful local or national station you will receive a little interference at some point during connection. The solution to this problem however is simple. Firstly select a signal which is clear of any radio stations, this will reduce the amount of interference heard, secondly if your frequency picks up any in the future simple change frequency. The Griffin iTrip Fm Transmitter for example has 3 pre-set frequencies to change to if you do happen to receive quality issues with the current settings. FM Transmitters are a good solution if you only want a simple iPod input in your car, If for example you don't need an integrated kit that offers full digital quality, iPod control and text display the Transmitter could be the kit for you. A small saying that my granddad used to say to me "you get what you pay for" generally rings true in all walks of life. If you buy a cheap transmitter you should expect the performance to be poorer than other kits, from our experience the griffin tend to offer the best all round performance in the iPod FM Transmitter world.

Bluetooth Car Kits A Safer Way To Communicate On The Move

Bluetooth Car Kits A Safer Way To Communicate On The Move Cover There has been a lot of press recently about the use of mobile phones when we drive and the danger associated with them is obvious. However many of the general public still fail to heed warnings by the police, politicians and safety groups about the severity of offence caused and the possible outcomes that may occur. Its fair to say the media attention has highlighted the issue of phone driving and increased the public's general awareness. However is this enough? And what else can be done to help prevent deaths on our roads by phone drivers? The obvious answer is to not use the phone while driving, sounds easy when suggested on paper, but many campaigns from government and local authorities seem to fail. The message is probably heard loud and clear at the time, but when deciding whether or not to take the call it seems to be forgotten quickly. Does this show the awareness campaign if failing or is there a deeper rooted problem within society? The saturation of mobile phones in the UK is increasing year upon year, this trend has lead us to believing we need our phones to feel in "contact" with our social group or families, and often we feel lost without it. I know I do. Its perhaps this feeling of urgency that encourages us to answer even when we know we shouldn't!!! The problem stretches far and wide, Its likely that you'll see up to or more than 30% of road users making a call, if you were to sit and count vehicles passing by on any major local road. One way to negate the problem of phone driving isn't to stop drivers using the phone, but to make the experience safer and more convenient for them. Its fairly obvious to me that if the campaigns aren't working perhaps we should try a new strategy! Bluetooth car kits may provide the answer? Bluetooth car kits pair with your mobile phone to provide a wireless connection which allows you to answer the phone if and when your driving. The bluetooth kit is safer than physically answering and holding the mobile device, allowing you to drive with both hands available. There's a counter argument that the act of engaging in conversation distracts the mind from that task at hand. However this is somewhat of a null point as any number of factors may cause distractions. Like talking to passengers, listening to a radio station, checking on the kids etc. Is talking on the phone via bluetooth more hazardous than talking to a friend in the passenger seat? Ultimately the responsibility lies with the driver, its down to him/her to gauge whether they are capable of performing both acts, however its fair to say the use of bluetooth certainly increases the safety of all road users at least. Bluetooth Car Kits are a device that provide a safe and convenient way to communicate whilst driving. Your Phone can connect to the Car Bluetooth and ensure you and other road users remain safe.

Which Car Kit Should You Fit

Which Car Kit Should You Fit Cover What are the benefits of a professional quality hands free car kit? By professional quality, we mean a kit that needs to be installed into the car electrics, so that it uses your audio speakers and overrides the car stereo when you receive a call. Although these kits are more expensive that visor mounted car kits, or ear piece kits, and you need to add the cost of the fitting and installation, when you compare this to the cost of your car, and that you have an integrated solution that is not reliant on battery power, the costs are relatively small. So which kit should you choose? The first consideration is compatibility with your car (most kits will fit most cars) and also with your mobile, or mobiles if you have more than one phone in the family. Again most Bluetooth enabled kits are compatible with most Bluetooth enabled phones. Feature sets are often very similar and will often mirror the capabilities of your mobile. The quality of the call and the noise reduction can vary between car kits and manufacturers, but apart from this you should select the style of the control module and how it will fit in your car. Two recent additions to the market are the Motorola IHF1000 and the Parrot MKi9000, both offering a range of features for under $160 plus installation.

The Difference Between Universal And Integrated Bluetooth Handsfree Kits Which Are Better

The Difference Between Universal And Integrated Bluetooth Handsfree Kits Which Are Better Cover There are a lot of different types of bluetooth handsfree kits available on the market, many different brands, styles and designs offering different functions. However each kit performs what is essentially the same task, offering Handsfree call functionality while driving. Although there are many types of kit they all fall into two categories, Universal Sun Visor Kits or Fully Integrated Kits. Universal Sun Visor Kits also referred to as Plug and Play kits are a portable speaker and microphone combination packaged into one working unit. They hold a small but strong storage battery that allow for long standby life so you can attach the kit to your sun visor and leave it dormant until you need it. Many are provided with a car charger and more often than not a USB charger for connection to your computer for re-charging, firmware updates and bluetooth connectivity while at work (or play). Most recent universal bluetooth kits provide excellent sound reproduction due to a break through in DSP (digital sound processing) & Echo reduction software & Hardware. The microphone on universal bluetooth kits are more often than not built into the units, and pick up far less background noise than older models. Due to this your contact on the other end gets a loud and strong connection via your phone. There are many different styles, designs, shapes and sizes of sun visor kits ranging from large function rich kits like the Bury CV9040 to the Small and pretty kits like the Pama Alpha or the Parrot Minikit Slim. As you would expect with all universal kits the features and functions vary tremendously. State of the art kits usually come from Bury and Parrot and the rest tend to follow behind. A lot of universal kits now have features like TTS (Text to speech) and voice to text technology that allows the dictation of text messages and more advanced kits can be controlled voice commands. The Bury CV9060 is a particular market leader in this field with menu system that can be fully navigated by speech, apart from several functions, such as to hang up while in conversation (obviously you don't want the conversation to end abruptly depending on whats said either end!) The Majority of Universal kits purchased are to be used socially either for a group of people (family or friends) to share when out and about, or for individuals or couples who have more than one vehicle and want to change frequently. These device can be removed in seconds and charged while driving making them a great hansdfree solution that are cheap, reliable and totally portable. Integrated Bluetooth Car Kits are fully hardwired into the vehicles speaker system, just about all Integrated kits are provided as standard with ISO connections, if your vehicle has an ISO wiring loom the bluetooth kits will fit straight into it making installation very easy. If not there are various wiring adaptors available that will convert your vehicle wiring to ISO, these are know as SOT leads and are available for just about every vehicle. As the Kit is hardwired into the vehicle, several problems are instantly eliminated. The kits retain charge via the power cable in the ISO harness so you never have to charge the bluetooth kit, there is also a Auto-Mute cable with the ISO that will kill any audio coming from the radio, cd, iPod etc automatically. So all you hear is the conversation. Most integrated kits are provided with separate control units to answer, hang up or dial contacts. These can usually be connected anywhere in the vehicle that is both comfortable and convenient for the driver. New bluetooth kits such as the Parrot MKI range and the Bury CC9060 are provided the additional functions that improve compatibility & usability. For instance the MKI range are compatible with iPods so you have music integration via parrot kit. The iPods are fully controllable via the parrot control unit so functions like track browsing, song forwarding, Volume increase etc can all be performed at the touch of a button. The Bury CC9060 is provided with an excellent touch screen monitor and equipped with the very latest voice recognition software. This allows you to use your phone via the bury unit via voice commands. You don't even have to train the kit, just install and start. The Integrated kits provide a much better all round performance. The quality of audio reproduction is far greater then the Universal kits. Integrated Kits also have many additional features over the universal kits. Making & answering calls is usually easier too so if your looking for a good all round performance Integrated is the way forward. However the universal kits are portable and can be easily transferred from vehicle to vehicle. The sound reproduction is still good however you may have to fight with the radio for volume control. In summary, if you want an all singing & dancing bluetooth car kit you should go down the integrated route, however if you want some thing more simple and portable the universal kit is the one for you. However both are excellent options and are much better than manually talking on your mobile phone while driving. A Bluetooth Car Kit is a device that provides a safe and convenient way to communicate whilst driving. Your Phone can connect to the Car Bluetooth and ensure you and other road users remain safe.

iPhone New iPad Gets Unboxed In Vietnam

iPhone New iPad Gets Unboxed In Vietnam Image
The new iPad is officially launching this Friday, March 16. However, as is becoming increasingly common these days, sources in Asia have managed to get their hands on Apple's 3rd generation tablet a few days early and put it through the perfunctory unboxing. "Tinhte.vn" in Vietnam scored the photo above and the video below. Their initial impressions, translated by Google:

IPad feeling holding the 3rd generation is great, still very solid machine like the iPad 2 but is somewhat heavier and thicker than a bit. Really do not know if it's difficult for you to feel very small changes. Biggest difference is the design on the back of your camera slightly larger than the iPad 2 due to large sensor and lens structure also changed. In general, third-generation iPad would make those who want a radical change in design is unsatisfactory but it is still very beautiful at this time.

They also mention the Retina display screen, of course.

Customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK and the US Virgin Islands will get their turn on Friday. If anything, this early unboxing helps set expectations -- like with the iPhone 4S, there's no huge external design change. Rather, there are several important internal changes that will likely come together to provide a significant experiential change. (We'll find out for sure in a few days.)

iPhone Steve Jobs Tried To Land Apple Tv Deal With Cbs Les Moonves Declined

iPhone Steve Jobs Tried To Land Apple Tv Deal With Cbs Les Moonves Declined Image
CBS CEO Leslie Moonves mentioned in an interview recently that Steve Jobs had approached him about syndicating television content on Apple TV. Jobs pitched the partnership as a subscription service, but there aren't many details beyond that. Moonves shot down Jobs, citing concerns about disrupting the traditional CBS revenue stream. Specifically, Moonves said "You know more than me about 99 percent of things but I know more about the television business." As you might expect, Jobs vehemently disagreed with Moonves about the revenue situation. In the interview, Moonves reiterated that they full support digital distribution of content, having played a huge role in Hulu's earlier days, and being a Netflix partner.

While this headline might be getting Moonves some attention, he's hardly the only person ever to have said "no" to Steve Jobs. Verizon did as well, landing the iPhone exclusively on AT&T for 3 years. Given Jobs' track record, and his ability to see the future of consumer demand, it might not be something Moonves is smart to be shopping around. But hey, if Apple launches their rumored television set, and it takes off anything like the iPhone and iPad has, at least we'll be able to link back to this in a few years and see, right?

Meanwhile Apple TV is seeing a refresh with 1080p video quality, but for most TV, that's overkill. There's already a wealth of CBS content available on Apple TV through Netflix, but If Apple is still interested in this sort of a setup, a subscription-based premium Apple TV service may still be in the cards. In any case, this kind of thing has been rumoured for awhile, so I wouldn't be holding my breath to see a launch any time soon. Would you guys be interested in a 10/month Netflix competitor from Apple? What would they need to do differently to stand out?

Parrot will demonstrate these products at CES, South Hall booth # 36838. Parrot DS3120 bluetooth speaker - FM Radio The new Parrot DS3120 is an innovative home stereo that combines Parrot's award-winning wireless music and hands-free calling technology in one unit. Consumers can now enjoy their music without being tethered to headphones, allowing them to listen to music out loud virtually anywhere, anytime. The Parrot DS3120 allows users to play music from mobile phones, music players, PCs and laptops wirelessly via Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) or through a USB connection. It also has an SD card slot, a line-in for iPod and a built-in FM/RDS radio. Parrot DS3120 - Clock radio “Music is part of our everyday life. The Parrot DS3120 is a clock-radio with unique high-quality sound, amazing new features like the built-in screen display, all packed in an exceptional wireless design,” says Henri Seydoux, founder and CEO of Parrot. “The Parrot DS3120 has been designed to offer unmatched audio performance and provides a smooth connection to a wide range of audio sources.” Parrot DS3120 speaker - Quality Once paired with a mobile phone, the unit also allows users to search through their contacts and channel voice calls through its high-quality 20W speakers. The 1.8-inch color TFT screen displays track and album details when playing music and phonebook information when making or taking a call. When in music mode, the track details are grouped by source, artist, album and title. Users can select their source, see the track information and enjoy their music. The Parrot DS3120 has its own battery power source when required, allowing for up to 10 hours playback, and weighs in at only 1.5kg / 3.3 lbs making it highly portable. Parrot DS3120 bluetooth hands free speaker - Price & Availability Voice calls are high-quality thanks to Parrot's heritage in making high-end in-car communications technology. A microphone built into the unit picks up the user's voice from wherever they are in room and effectively cancels out all background noise. When receiving incoming calls with caller ID, music is automatically muted and any phonebook images stored on the user's mobile phone are displayed on the bright screen. The bass system is cleverly hidden in the speaker stands and the three-button user interface located at the top speaker face is touch-sensitive. If the audio source device does not have Bluetooth technology nor support the A2DP profile, users can still play music wirelessly by using a Bluetooth 2.0. USB Parrot dongle included with the Parrot DS1120 or in the traditional way by simply connecting their music source via the included line-in RCA jack. The Parrot DS1120 will be available in Europe and the U.S. in the second quarter of 2008 with a suggested MSRP of $279.99.

How To Buy The Right Headphones

How To Buy The Right Headphones Cover A top-notch MP3 player is only half of the audio equation. No matter what your budget, we've got advice on picking the best headphones to maximize your listening experience—along with reviews of 35 top pairs. These days, some people happily spend as much as half a grand on a new MP3 player with an estimated lifespan of around three years, yet the question I'm asked most often is still, "What's the cheapest pair of headphones I can buy that don't completely suck?" Headphones, earbuds, and earphones (I'll describe the difference between them in a bit) are generally viewed as the least essential link in the musical chain—the part you can skimp on. In reality, your headphones are the most important link in that chain: A quality pair can have an even larger impact than the player itself on how your tunes will sound. Also, if well cared for, they will long outlive your planned-to-be-obsolete digital audio player. And you don't have to break the bank, either. For $400 or less, you can get both a good player and a high-quality pair of 'phones and really begin to enjoy all the excellent audio you've been missing. Thanks to the iPod's wild popularity, those trademark white earbuds have become ubiquitous. Even so, earbuds are not an ideal listening option, since they don't enter the ear canal and as a result don't create a true seal. In fact, they're more likely to be placed at an odd angle, often destroying the balance of the audio mix—and you can forget about getting solid bass response. Earphones, on the other hand, sit further in your ear canal, creating a better seal—and they're often more comfortable to wear, since they tend to stay in place better than earbuds. Headphones, by contrast, are over-the-head (or behind-the-head) speakers that sit on the ear. Circumaural models create a seal with cups around the entire ear, whereas open, or supra-aural, headphones sit directly on the ear without forming a seal. Now let's take a look at some better alternatives to those lousy stock-issue earbuds. These selections consist mostly of earphones, which seem to have won the popularity war over other styles, but you'll also find excellent and affordable headphones, noise-canceling, and wireless options as well. Earphones As explained above, earbuds aren't the best way to get the most from your music. For $40, you could have a decent pair of earphones, instead. If you're looking for booming bass on a budget, there are a few options between $40-50. They don't deliver the most accurate sonic experience, but they certainly feature deep, resonant low end-perfect for hip-hop and electronic music-which is a new development in affordable earphones. Generally speaking, you won't find true audio quality in earphones until you pass the $50 mark. In the $50 to $150 price range, you can expect earphones that fit well, deliver powerful bass and crisp treble, and come with a variety of ear tips in different sizes to ensure a good seal. Ultimate Ears, Sennheiser, Shure, and Monster are the main players in this category. If you're more about accuracy than booming bass, you'll want "flat-response" pairs that offer a more pure, less sculpted audio signal. Etymotic's $300 ER-4S is our flat-response earphone benchmark, and you'll find it in many of our HEAD Acoustics graphs as a comparison pair. In this same price range, you should expect well-matched left and right earphones, as well as better definition on the lowest and highest frequencies. Etymotic makes the flattest pair in this range, but there are plenty of options that offer more low-end without boosting too much. Earphones can be far more expensive than a couple hundred dollars, however—the UE 11 Pro will cost you $1,150. They're a custom-molded pair with subwoofers added in each ear for more accurate deep bass response. These are my favorite earphones, period. (At that price, they'd better be!) We also include them in several of our test graphs so you can see how the pair we're reviewing compares to an ideal, but less flat, frequency-response curve. Headphones When it comes to consumer headphones, two companies in particular, Grado and Sennheiser, truly stand out from the crowd. Grado makes supra-aural (and some hybrid) headphones that range from $70-$1,000. The Grado GS1000 pair, with its mix of supra-aural and circumaural design, delivers audio that sounds about as good as it possibly can. Even so, at $995 the GS1000 isn't for everyone: They're not very portable, and you can't ignore the wooden earpieces. (I actually think they look pretty cool, and luckily, Grado has more affordable options, like the sub-$100 SR60.) Sennheiser also makes several different types of headphones in a wide price range—a few options are listed below. Generally, headphones should be able to reproduce richer low end since they have larger drivers than earphones and they don't rely on an in-ear seal to deliver their output. Noise-Canceling Headphones and Earphones You might try to dismiss the din of the outside world by cranking up the volume, but the best solution for saving your sanity and your ears is to invest in a pair of noise-canceling headphones, so you can enjoy your audio at much lower volumes. Bose's QuietComfort 15 headphones, our Editor's Choice, offer fantastic noise cancellation, and they sound pretty decent—but they will set you back about $300. Creative's Aurvana X-Fi Noise Canceling Headphones are our former Editors' Choice—they sound better than the QuietComfort series and deliver almost-as-good noise reduction for $50 less. There are several competitors in this field, so it's worth perusing. It's also important to note: Noise-canceling headphones are generally not for audiophiles—they put function (blocking outside noise) first, and sound quality second. They tend to sound less compelling than similarly priced headphones without the noise-cancellation circuitry. Plus, several in-ear earphone pairs offer substantial passive noise reduction by basically functioning as earplugs. Wireless Headphones There's no disputing that wireless headphones can be convenient in any situation where you don't want to deal with dangling cables—like the gym, for example. Unfortunately, Bluetooth wireless stereo audio doesn't measure up when compared with the tried-and-true wired kind. This is because the data signal containing Bluetooth audio is extremely compressed and therefore can't carry enough information to deliver rich sound. But if you absolutely abhor wires, the reasonably priced $130 Motorola MotoROKR S9-HD or Altec Lansing's $100 BackBeat aren't bad, and they both double as headsets to let you answer cell-phone calls. For higher-quality wireless sound, the Kleer company, however, has developed a closely guarded RF-based audio technology (of the same name) that sounds fantastic. The pricey $600 Sennheiser MX W1 was the first quality pair of earphones to use Kleer, and Sleek Audio has now incorporated it as well. And as Sennheiser teased at CES 2010, more affordable pairs are on the way.

Ihome Ip3 Bzc An Iphone Ipod Docking Station With A Punch

Ihome Ip3 Bzc An Iphone Ipod Docking Station With A Punch Cover One of the leading docking station producers, iHome, has launched their latest iPod and iPhone docking station, the iHome iP3 BZC, a speaker dock that packs a mean punch. Unlike many other iPod and iPhone speaker docks in its price class, the iHome iP3 packs an impressive 50w of class D amp power that drives a pair of 3.5' coaxial neodymium speakers. This is a docking station for those that don’t have the money for any of the top end systems, like the Philips Fidelio DS9000 or similar, but still wants a system that can fill a room with quality sound and that deep bass that you will struggle to get out of other docking stations that lacks the necessary power. The new iHome iP3 BZC relies on their Bongiovi Acoustics technology for sound adjustment, giving you an improved sound picture. The dock also comes with a built in EQ, AV output for transferring video and images to another device, such as a television, and a line-in jack so you can connect it to other sources of music than just the iPod or the iPhone. Design of the new iHome iP3 is nice as well, and they have been clever in producing a dock that does not rely on adapters to accomodate the different types of iPod’s and iPhone’s. And yes, the iHome iP3 is fully compatible with all the latest iPod and iPhone models. Price for the iHome iP3BZC in the US is around $200, and compared to other iPod docking stations we would expect the UK price to be around $320. At the moment we have not been able to find anyone selling the iHome iP3 in the UK, but we will update with sellers as soon as it becomes available.

The 60 watt cabinet speakers can be networked with any device in your home including your phone, mp3 player(s), PDAs, PC, laptop, or any Bluetooth enabled device that streams audio. These speakers are a quick fix for those who hate wires everywhere and those who love to boast about their new ringtones. The Bluetooth speakers also include EDR for up to 3Mbps and it can also support the A2DP and AVRCP format. When these wireless speakers were created they put thought into it by including a RCA line-in input for devices that lack Bluetooth technology. The specifics on sound quality are a bit sketchy but each speaker contains a built-in digital two-channel Class-D amplifier so it doesn’t sound like a car wreck. As you can see, the Bluetooth Wireless Speakers are a great addition to your college dorm room, office, or just about any setting. Newer Boot Rom Devices Will Be Tethered Just Like The iPhone

Newer Boot Rom Devices Will Be Tethered Just Like The iPhone Image
Will you be able to jailbreak the new iPad and can you jailbreak the just-released iOS 5.1 software? If you're a jailbreaker like me, that's probably the first question you asked yourself following Apple's big even yesterday. I know it's the question a lot of you are asking us.

Here's the deal.

THE NEW IPAD

As of now, we really don't know much other than there probably won't be a jailbreak ready for release. Considering the new iPad comes with an upgraded A5X processor, we can safely assume any existing tool would need to be heavily updated to support it. Given how long it took to jailbreak the iPhone 4S and iPad 2s A5 processor we could be in for quite a wait. There's just no way to tell until jailbreak developers get their hands on the new iPad and get to work.

Bottom line, don't buy the new iPad expecting to jailbreak it day one.

THE CURRENT AND NEW APPLETV

If you've got a current generation AppleTV2 and you update to the newer firmware, you'll lose your jailbreak. If you've got your blobs saved, you'll be good to downgrade though if you'd like your jailbreak back.

While we aren't sure yet when it comes to the 3rd generation AppleTV, FireCore seems pretty certain they'll be able to issue an update to jailbreak the new iteration of the AppleTV as well.

WILL ATV FLASH (BLACK) BE COMPATIBLE?

The short answer is: Yes! There will undoubtedly be a few obstacles to overcome in order to get everything up to speed, but based on our past experiences and progress thus far we're confident we can put the pieces in place to make it happen.

Again, don't expect to be able to jailbreak it day one but odds are, you'll have a jailbreak sooner rather than later.

IOS 5.1 FOR IPHONE 4S AND IPAD 2

If you have an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 (which both use the Apple A5 chipset) and want to keep your jailbreak, I highly recommend staying away from iOS 5.1. As soon as Apple stops signing iOS 5.0.1, you will not be able to downgrade even if you have your SHSH blobs saved.

The only exception to this is if you have an iPad 2 that has blobs saved for some version of iOS 4. You will be able to downgrade to those. iPhone 4S users will not be able to downgrade.

If you want to stay jailbroken, stay away from iOS 5 for now.

IOS 5.1 FOR IPHONE 4 AND ORIGINAL IPAD

The Dev-Team has released a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 via redsn0w 0.9.10b6 that works with the iPhone 4 and original iPad. If you are dying to upgrade to iOS 5.1 and you're okay with being tethered, you can go right ahead.

I'd highly recommend staying untethered on iOS 5.0.1 until an untethered version for iOS 5.1 is released, however. For those not familiar with what tethering means, you'll basically have to connect to your computer any time you want or need to reboot your iPhone or original iPad. That means any time your devices turns off or runs out of power, you have to go back to redsn0w and perform what is called a "tethered boot".

The up side is that you "will" be able to downgrade back to iOS 5.0.1 or earlier iOS versions, unlike iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users, as long as you have your blobs saved.

Again, unless you really need iOS 5.1 now and don't mind a tether, stay away.

IOS 5.1 FOR IPHONE 3GS

If you've got an older boot rom, you can update to iOS 5.1 and enjoy an untethered jailbreak. Newer boot rom devices will be tethered just like the iPhone 4 and original iPad.

UNLOCKERS

If you rely on using a program like ultrasn0w for a software unlock, I'd suggest holding off. If you really fancy having iOS 5.1, you can do so but you'll need to create a custom IPSW in order to upgrade so your baseband will remain in tact. You can do this with the newly released version of redsn0w available in our downloads section via the link below.

CONCLUSION

If you really love your jailbreak and all the apps, hacks, and utilities stick with iOS 5.0.1 or earlier an iPad 2 or earlier.

While tethered jailbreaks are tolerable, I really don't think iOS 5.1 added enough features that would warrant moving to a tethered jailbreak or losing your jailbreak altogether. Unless you are dying to check out new software like iPhoto for iOS, most users will be perfectly fine on iOS 5.0.1 untethered for now. And if you really want a new iPad, get it and enjoy it stock for now.

Tomtom Prices Iphone Car Cradle Cover TomTom has finally released pricing for its iPhone car cradle, which is due for release next month. You can expect to lay down $120 when you go to pick up your cradle. Soundclip For iPhone A Niftly Little External Sound Enhancer For iPhone 3g

Soundclip For iPhone A Niftly Little External Sound Enhancer For iPhone 3g Cover Whether you are someone who uses the external sound through the built in speaker of your iPhone 3G for handsfree purposes when driving, or just want to listen to the music on your iPhone at a low volume in the park on a nice sunny day, Soundclip for iPhone 3G from TenOne Design is a nifty little accessory that enhances the sound coming from your iPhone. The built in speaker in the iPhone 3G is not half bad, but once the volume gets a bit high, say while driving and using the functionality as handsfree, as we do not want to break the law, the sound can often become less clear and distorted. This is where the Soundclip for iPhone 3G from TenOne Design comes into play. SoundClip easily clips onto the 30 pin dock connector of your iPhone 3G and immediately amplifies the external sound from your iPhone by 10dB between 5kH and 20kHz. If you enjoy playing games on your iPhone 3G you will be glad to know that the SoundClip does not get blocked by your hand while playing. The only downside to this nifly little iPhone gadget is that you have to detach it to be able to charge your iPhone, and it is not compatible with the extended batteries for the iPhone 3G. The price however makes the SoundClip a very affordable gadget for your iPhone 3G, as it is priced at about $7.95 (c.?5). We will get back with more information about where to buy the SoundClip in the UK. In the US it can be bought through TenOne Design website.

Communicate And Driving Is Safer With Bluetooth Car Kit

Communicate And Driving Is Safer With Bluetooth Car Kit Cover Since mobile phones have saturated the market, this gadget has proven to be of much use to everyone aside from being handy. In fact, among all other things which you need to bring with you, mobiles have become a necessity. Without it, we get a feeling that something is missing. Why? Because it is our way to always be in contact with our families, business and social groups. We bring it with us even in churches. The moment it rings, it is a must for us to pay attention to it. And this is the very main reason why drivers still pick up their phone although they are aware of the risks. Solutions has arrive! Unfortunately there isn’t a solution for improving the stupidity of other road users like the old gentleman, however there will more than likely be a solution for improving your safety if you wanted to use a mobile device’s functions. There are numerous gadgets to allow the connection of your mobile phone to your vehicle, each type offering different functions and features. Generally speaking the more you spend the better system you get. The emergence of the Bluetooth car kits can resolve this issue. Paired with your mobile phone, the Bluetooth car kit provides the wireless connection allowing you to make a phone call or answer a call while driving. This is safer because you can still continue your driving, pay attention on the road and at the same time communicate using your mobile with no bother of holding it with your hand. Handsfree Bluetooth car kits come in two forms. An integrated kit that connects into the vehicles stereo system, auto muting the music and offering numerous other features. Or a universal kits that either connect to the sun visor, dashboard or directly into your ear. The hard wired kits offer better quality functions than the universal kits. The auto-mute function is very handy, Its surprisingly inconvenient to reduce the volume on the stereo every time you answer a call. Other features can include text navigation to save you manually routing through menu structures, iPod or MP3 connectivity, steering wheel controls, Text to speech TEXT message service reading incoming Text messages when required and Voice Dial. Universal Kits usually offer a basic handsfree service, Answer and hang up calls and sometimes phone book compatibility. However the main advantage of having a universal kit in your car is that it is removal allowing you add to any vehicle you may drive. This is especially useful if you have a family of drivers. Conclude We still have to remember that when you drive, you always have to have presence of mind. As a driver, you have the responsibility to be cautious enough by following driving and traffic rules. It is only you who can actually assess if you can do both things. Nevertheless, it is honest to say that the Blue-tooth kits will definitely help in the safety of not just the phone drivers but also the passengers and the other road users.

Iphone 4 Dualsim Case Makes Network Hopping Easy Cover Now, you can’t have both SIMs active at the same time – that’s a limitation of the iPhone 4, sadly – but you can apparently switch between them without having to reboot the Apple smartphone. According to USBfever, you can simply pick the correct card from the SIM Applications menu in the iPhone 4?s settings, and after a minute or two it flicks over. You’ll need to be running iOS 4.0.0/4.0.1/4.0.2 for that to work, though. The adapter case is on sale now, priced at $28.99.

5 Fun Iphone Accessories For Kids

5 Fun Iphone Accessories For Kids Cover As more and more kids are toting iPhones and iPod touches, we thought we’d take a look at the child-friendly accessories that are now available for the new gadget-loving generation. We’ve found five fun products that will suit a wide age range of kids, from the toddler borrowing Mom’s iPhone right up to older children with devices of their own. And with news from the Duracell Toy Report that the iPhone and iPod touch are currently dominating children’s Christmas wish lists this year, it’s a market that we expect to see growing rapidly. Do your kids have their own gadgets? Do you loan yours out to them? Should kids even be playing with iPhones and iPods? Have your say and let us know what you think in the comments below. 1. Woogie Billed as the answer to the question — “Can I play on your iPhone?” — the oddly named Woogie is a fun way of child-proofing your precious Apple handheld. Boasting built-in speakers, a screen protector to guard against sticky fingers, and plushy limbs to cushion the inevitable fumble, it’s the wise parent’s way of turning an iPhone into a toy before handing it over to junior. Cost: $19.99 2. Buzz Lightyear iDance Assuming your offspring likes Toy Story (which is a pretty safe bet), this eight-inch Buzz Lightyear will be a big hit with your kids. A History Of Dension iPod Car Kits

A History Of Dension iPod Car Kits Cover iPod Car Kits started out back in 1999 with Dension, they were the original manufacturer of the very first iPod Car Kit. Back then, the kids were very basic. The very first kit started out with just an audio feed (similar to an Aux input from the iPod to the stereo) but before long Dension wanted to improve the kit and next came along a feature which is still regarded as one of the most important; Charging the iPod while connected. Apple have made hard work of keeping this feature as of late when they changed the charging from 12v to 5v but Dension have bounced back with an update in hardware inside their units. In 2003 Dension realized that there was a big market for iPod kits and wanted to improve on the kit even more. Along came two more important changes. The first was the introduction of a cradle, cleverly designed in a "one size fits all" base where you simply add an insert/sleeve which makes it fit your iPod. The second introduction was the ability to be able to control the iPod from the car stereo. In its first stages, this was set up based around playlist control. You would map your playlists on the 1-5 buttons on your car stereo and when you wanted to change playlists you could then simply press button 3 for example. Within 6 months, this advanced and you could also skip tracks forwards and backwards as well as rewinding and fast-forwarding. In 2006 Dension pushed the "control" feature further and introduced another two features. The first this time being a mode which allows you to change the control back to the iPod so it doesn't lock out the iPod when connected. This was great for people who couldn't get along with the playlist mode. The second improvement was one of the most important thus far, Artist, Album, Podcast, Track control; Now instead of only being able to control the iPod using playlists, you could now change the mode and search by artists, or albums, or anyway you wanted! Dension moved forwards quickly with more products coming rapidly. 2007 saw the debut of the very first iPod kit to have an optional "add-on" to allow bluetooth connections through the iPod kit and your car stereo and steering controls. This meant that using your phone in your car was now seemless. Next came the AV Extender, a clever device which allowed you to play the iPods videos onto your cars screen (or an external screen if needed). This sold out 3 times in its first 2 months. Dension are now still the market leaders and constantly producing new products. Their line up now includes the Dension Gateway 100, Gateway 300, Gateway 500 MOST, Gateway 500 D2B, AVR, BTA1500 and much more! Dension products are available from many Online iPod Car Kit Stores.

Apples Quarterly Revenue Tops 20 Billion

Apples Quarterly Revenue Tops 20 Billion Cover Days after shares of Apple eclipsed $300 a piece to hit an all-time high, the company is out with its latest earnings report, and with it, another milestone: $20 billion in quarterly revenue. Specifically, the company brought in sales of $20.34 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter and a net profit of $4.31 billion, both best-ever quarterly performances. Breaking it down by product, Apple reports sales of: * 3.89 million Macs, up 27% from the same quarter last year * 14.1 million iPhones, up 91% from the same quarter last year * 9.05 million iPods, a decline of 11% from the same quarter last year * 4.19 million iPads (which wasn’t available last year) In a statement, CEO Steve Jobs noted that the company has moved past BlackBerry in terms of smartphone sales. “iPhone sales of 14.1 million were up 91 percent year-over-year, handily beating the 12.1 million phones RIM sold in their most recent quarter. We still have a few surprises left for the remainder of this calendar year,” he said. Among those surprises could be a Verizon iPhone, which looks increasingly likely given the company is set to start offering the iPad on Verizon later this month. We’ll be listening in to the company’s conference call and providing further updates as they happen.
