Belkin TuneCast Auto Live Another charging solution from Belkin. Like the iTrip above, the TuneCase Auto Live uses an app on your iPhone to establish which is the clearest frequency. It uses GPS data from your iPhone to work out which frequencies are unused where you are and then suggests a frequency for you to tune your stereo in to. If you don’t like the idea of it using your location the Belkin Tunecast Auto with ClearScan doesn’t use an app or GPS – Instead it scans the airwaves to find a clear frequency. 5. Jabra Cruiser The Jabra Cruiser is a small, slim portable car kit that combines an FM transmitter with a Bluetooth Car Kit. The Jabra Cruiser simply clips to the sun visor of your car and pairs to your iPhone or 2nd generation iPod touch using Bluetooth. The Cruiser supports both the A2DP and AVRCP profiles which means that you can stream your music to it over Bluetooth for playback either through the built in speaker or through your car stereo using it’s built in FM Transmitter. The iPhone and iPod touch don’t fully support AVRCP, but you can still play/ pause your music using the play controls on the front of the Cruiser. Belkin TuneFM3 FM Transmitter The TuneFM3 is about as simple as you can get when it comes to FM transmitters. You just plug it into the dock connector on the bottom of your iPhone and tune your stereo in. Music playback starts automatically, saving you the hassle of having to launch the iPod app and press play. Unlike most FM transmitters that use the Dock Connector, the TuneFM3 has a mini USB port that allows you to charge your iPhone at the same time using a Mini USB Car Charger. The White on Black display makes reading the display effortless, especially at night. The TuneFM3 was primarily designed for use with iPods, so when you connect it to your iPhone you will see a pop up message saying that “this accessory is not made for iPhone”. White iPhone 4 Production Delays Until Year End

Apple has announced today in a press release that they are continue to face challenges in manufacturing of the White iPhone 4 model, and due to this the iPhone 4 White model will not be available until later this year. However, Apple has already earlier announced in a press conference that White iPhone 4 shipping will start in the end of July. Apple has released a statement in press release about the delay of White iPhone 4 models: CUPERTINO, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — White models of Apple’ new iPhone4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected. The Cupertino, Calif., company states that availability of black iPhone 4 models will not be affected due to this delay and customers can purchase and order black iPhone 4 as like before, the sale of which started in June. However, last week it was reported that the white models might be delayed upon color issues. A worker from Lens quality control department has allegedly admitted that the company’s screen-printing workshop may currently be dealing with some issues with the white iPhone 4 covers. Now it seems that the news to come true. So, the fans of Apple products have to wait more for the White iPhone 4 models.

Fm Transmitters A Good Option For iPod Integration But Are There Better

If you want to take your music on the road with you, your iPod is the best and most convenient option. But how do you connect it to your vehicle? Which method is best? And what options do you have? You have many options depending on your car and stereo equipment you have installed, there are a variety of ways of connecting your iPod to your Vehicle. The Kits range from fully integrated connections that emulate your CD changer providing CD quality or better audio through your stereo, through to FM Transmitters that connect to your iPod and transmit radio signals to your aerial. The truth is there are thousands of options and a variety of different brands that offer slightly different functions. The more basic of the options start with FM Transmitters; they are a simple kit but can provide good results. FM Transmitters plug into the bottom of the iPod / iPhone and translate your music being played on your iPod to a radio signal, The radio signal is then broadcast to the local area (Anybody using the same frequency can listen to your music / podcast etc). The FM Transmitters are usually the more cost effective option when purchasing an iPod car kit, however bear in mind the area you live in or commute to before you purchase. If the area is heavy with radio signals you can often receive a poor signal, usually resulting interference or a duplicate signal played over the top of the original frequency so you have two sources of audio being played. FM Modulator kits are also provided with power clips that allow you to crimp onto the stereos power cable to provide kit with battery power from the ignition switch. This powers the kit and the iPod when the ignition is turned on so you'll never lose battery charge while connected and your iPod is good to go again. Although the Modulator provides better performance than the transmitter it still doesn't offer the ability to control the iPod through the stereo of steering wheel controls, which is a major factor for a lot of people when purchasing an iPod car kit. The most advanced option is hard wired option. The Dension Gateway 100 is a good example of this. The hardwired kit connects into the CD changer port on the back of the stereo and emulates the factory changer. These kits are a little more expensive however in many people's opinion they are worth the extra investment. The majority of hardwired kits allow the user control the iPod from steering wheel or stereo, charge the ipod, offer text display on the vehicle display or cluster screen and provide perfect CD quality audio through the factory speakers. When ordering an iPod car kit it's important to consider what functions you want from it. If you only want a simple kit that provides decent quality audio, and you're prepared to put up with a little interference every now and then, the FM Transmitter is probably the better option for you. However if you love your music and want an all singing & Dancing kit you should be prepared to spend a little extra money. An iPod transmitter is a good option for an iPod car kit connection. However if your looking for a more advanced iPod car kit solution you should look for an integrated iPod kit.

How Not To Use Tomtom On Your iPhone

OK, I’ve seen some pretty odd ways of using mobile phone’s over the years, but this one really made me chuckle. As you’ve probably heard, you can now get TomTom Sat Nav on your iPhone, and the whole world seem to be going crazy about it. Quite a few bloggers are reviewing the new software and posting video’s of it being used – which is great, after all $90 is a lot to spend on a software download if it’s no good, but I really think some people need to plan ahead when it comes to creating a video review. This morning I stumbled on this iPhone TomTom video review on YouTube which shows off how easy the software is to use. They then take it for a spin in the car and demonstrate brilliantly how not to mount your iPhone in the car. Sellotaping your iPhone to the dash might be a quick fix, but just think of the mess that’s going to be left on his phone and dashboard when he’s done. Silly really, when for less than $22 he could have got himself an iPhone Sat Nav Pack that includes a rotating windscreen holder and car charger. On the subject of iPhone holders, I’ve noticed that people seem to think that you have to use sat nav on the iPhone in landscape mode. As most phone holders for the iPhone 3G and 3GS are portrait, I’m guessing this is why people are resorting to sellotaping their phones to the dashboard, but what you may not realise is that Sat Nav works perfectly well in portrait mode too – in fact I prefer it. It means you don’t have to keep rotating the phone if a call or text message comes through and I find that you get a clearer view of what’s coming up on the road ahead. Admittedly, there’s not much in it, but do you really need to see all the side roads that you’re not going to be driving down? Easiest option of course is to just get yourself a rotating holder so that you can use your phone which ever way you want. Apple is conducting a satisfaction survey for iPhone 4. In the survey, a questionnaire is being sent to some of the iPhone 4 users. The questionnaire contains a list of questions about iPhone 4. Each question has multiple options to choose from. In the survey various other information is asked like if the user is using any other mobile set and which brand the user considers can iPhone 4 replace. After the press conference held by Apple for the antenna issue in iPhone 4, it was not accepted completely neither denied by Apple that iPhone 4 has antenna issues. Apple has also announced to give away free cases or refund the complete amount if customer wants to return iPhone 4. Apple has also pointed that all smartphones have signal drop issues in consequence of which, companies like Samsung , RIM, HTC have issued some statement criticizing Apple’s claim. Apple has also announced in the press conference the launching of iPhone 4 in 17 other countries and White iPhone 4 shipping. Both of these will start from July 30. Apple Antenna Testing Lab

Apple has highlighted the iPhone 4 antenna design and testing during the press conference held yesterday. Steve Jobs commented ‘Nobody is perfect’ and accepted that there are more call drops in iPhone 4 than iPhone 3GS. He revealed some information about the testing lab formally called ‘Black Lab’ which is used for testing by Apple team. Apple has invested around $100 million in development of the lab. It consists of 17 antenna characterization chambers (anechoic chambers) designed to accurately measure antenna and wireless performance and there are 18 PhD scientists and engineers working for the lab. Inside the black lab, testing is taken up to 25 hours to run across all frequencies. There are various types of testing conducted in the lab which includes positioning the device on Styrofoam blocks, in human hands, and in the vicinity of realistic “phantom” mannequin body parts. Apple posts about the testing on their site: ”Apple engineers tested iPhone 4 in a variety of scenarios, environments, and conditions in order to gauge performance. They spent thousands of hours in cities in the U.S. and throughout the world testing iPhone 4 call quality, dropped-call performance, call origination and termination, and in-service time. They tested iPhone 4 while stationary, at high and low speeds, and in urban, dense urban, and highway environments. In low-coverage areas and good-coverage areas, during peak and off-peak hours — iPhone 4 was field-tested in nearly every possible coverage scenario across different vendor and carrier equipment all over the world.” Despite of all these showcasing and testing, Apple didn’t deny that there are some call drops in iPhone 4 which are higher in quantity than iPhone 3GS. In order to satisfy the customers and maintain the goodwill Apple has announced to provide free cases for iPhone 4 or iPhone 4 can be returned back with complete amount refund by September 30.

Apple had announced in a press conference for refund of bumper cases of iPhone 4. Apple has now started refunding the cost of bumper cases purchased. Any other types of extra charges like shipping and VAT is also refunded by Apple. For customers who have purchased the bumpers using credit cards, the refund has been started for them automatically and in next few days they will receive their amount back. Due to loss in signal issue, Apple has announced to refund the bumper cases for iPhone 4. White Iphone 4 Delayed Due To Proximity Sensor

There are many rumors for the delay for White iPhone 4 to be available. Now, the information is coming that the cause behind White iPhone 4 is due to malfunctioning of its proximity sensor. The proximity sensor of White iPhone 4 was able to transmit signal but was not able to receive them properly. It is being fixed now and White iPhone 4 is anticipated to be available by year end before Christmas. The story goes like this. Initially, the White iPhone 4 didn’t allow infrared sensor to transmit and receive signal properly. So, designers decided to apply small holes on top of iPhone 4, just above the speaker. Soon it was realized that the holes can be seen clearly from the sensor and they decided to apply a metallic film which reproduced the same color of the edges of the iPhone. In initial testing it was discovered that this film which is opaque from front and metallic from back can transmit signal properly. But it was bit late when they discovered that there was problem in receiving signals which led to proximity sensor malfunctioning and the production has to be postponed to a later date. It is also being informed that the engineers have found the solution and tested successfully by keeping the back of the film opaque and front is formed by many small metal dots which allow sending and receiving signals correctly. Arkhippo Concept Makes The Iphone Fat

You can’t do that with the iPhone unless you have a really flexible neck. A new case concept for the iPhone has surfaced called the Arkhippo. The case makes the iPhone majorly fat. The upside is you could probably comfortable hold the phone between your cheek and shoulder with the case on the iPhone. The case has an angled back and bottom that is designed to let you stand the iPhone up or sit it in landscape mode. The concept measures 170mm H x 83mm W x 50mm D and is made from a material similar to that of Crocs shoes. I don’t think you could carry the phone in your pocket if you use this case.

While Microsoft is trying to save face with their upcoming launch of Kinect, and how it relates to hardcore gamers out there, Apple is apparently vying to make their name known amidst the crowd. Sure, their titles are far more “mobile” than, say, Microsoft’s, but that doesn’t make the gamers any less hardcore. Today, Apple officially unveiled their new “Hardcore Games” section within App Store Essentials. And, as you can tell from the picture above, it’s pretty hardcore. Titles you’ll find in there range, but you should find some familiar ones like Space Invaders Infinity Gene, Chaos Rings, and Archetype. The prices don’t seem to have changed much, though. Australia Goes Hands Free

New laws to come into effect across Australia will see drivers having to put down their mobile phones whilst in the car. Although different states will have different implementation of the law, some states, including Victoria will see a marked change whereby phones need to be in a holder fixed in the car with calls being answered without touching the phone. Coming into effect on 9 November, fines will be $220 for repeat offenders.
